Ekone Theater Camp

New in 2020!

During this fun and inspiring week, campers will have the opportunity to engage in creative expression through all aspects of the theater process. Throughout the week, the Ekone wilderness and community will serve as a catalyst to create an original play. Campers will spend time on the land exploring theater games and interacting with the natural world, framing the problem to be solved through the final performance, inventing characters, writing dialogue and composing original songs, making costumes, designing sets and making sure everything is ready to go for a spectacular Friday opening night!

Campers will have the choice to act in the performance, participate behind the scenes, or wherever they'd like to contribute to the creative process.

**Note that Theater Campers will not ride horses, leaving more time for all those theatrical endeavors!**

Lead Staff for Theater Camp

Michelle Sager

If you haven't seen Michelle perform her famous camp song complete with increasingly rapid dance moves, you're really missing out...

Michelle first connected with Ekone in early 2017 when she reached out looking for local connections to good people and places. With her long history of traveling, building community in the Gorge has been a new adventure, and she says Ekone’s welcoming and empowering energy was easy to fall in love with. Michelle brings years of experience working with youth in sustainability, garden, and art education, and a boundless enthusiasm for Summer Camp! Michelle is passionate about making education more loving, reflective, and inclusive, and appreciates learning from others’ experiences.
