Riding Camp Skip Year Policy

To increase access to our most popular sessions and encourage horse-crazy kids to expand their horizons, we created the Riding Camp Skip Year. 

For campers who have attended two years of riding-intensive camps in a row, we ask them to choose a non-riding-intensive camp for a "skip year". We put a lot of thought into this, and here's some of the rationale:

• We have so many awesome camp sessions! And campers sometimes just need a nudge to check out something new (even if they realllllly love riding horses), which can open up whole new worlds for them. (We've seen it.)

• Some of those non-riding sessions still have tons to do with horses! And we really want to encourage kids (and adults) to expand their view of horses and Ekone beyond riding/going fast/what-can-horses-do-for-me. 

• Our riding sessions are SO popular and they could fill immediately with returning campers. We want to create access to Ekone's awesome horse program for new campers, scholarship campers, and kids whose parents might not be stalking our website :)

• All-Level Horse Camp

• Young Rider Camp

• Wrangler Camp

• Advanced Riding Camp

Here are the other rad sessions we're encouraging campers to try out during a skip year:

• Horse Connection Camp (for ages 12-18)

• Ekone Leadership (for ages 14-18)

• Art Camp (ages 10-16)

• Music Camp (for ages 10-16)

• Harvest Cooking Camp (for ages 10-16)

• Rites of Passage Teens (for ages 12-18)

• Wilderness Camp (for ages 10-16)

• Theater Camp (ages 10-16)
