Camp Testimonials

A few comments from 2025 Camp families!

All three of our children have gone - they've all had really wonderful experiences - thank you so much for such an amazing time! He was thankful that everyone was accepted as they are. He was nervous about his sparkly belt that he wears, but was pleasantly surprised by the welcoming vibe. As a parent, I like that there are clear, strict rules but they're not authoritatively enforced. Impressed - really well done.

She had a big, beautiful experience at camp. She can’t wait to go again next year. She made friends, she loved the chores, the structure was good. Dada appreciated that they had the structure of chores as well. Dad loved the energy of the staff and counselors he saw and interacted with.

She tends to get homesick and was well supported with extra care from staff. Had a great time. Loved the food, cooking ,crafting, rope swing, games. Got daily letters from home which was very helpful for her.

She was grounded and happy afterwards. Full of music! She left and wanted to learn to play camp songs on the ukulele. Place to push her edges in a supportive environment and be out of her comfort zone. She came out with a lot of team and belonging language.

She was 100% stoked about the energy and vigor of being a wrangler. Came home well balanced. She cemented a friendship. She cried as her horse Chance, is being sold for health. So, bonded with animals and kids!

Wonderful! This was her third time at Ekone, and first one that had daily riding. She loved the trail rides and working with the same horse for the week.

He enjoyed the horse connection camp. Highlights were group activities and games, and especially caring for the horse. He felt very included and gained a sense of confidence!

5th year at camp. Love it so much!! highlight was riding Mosie. Had experience of her horse getting spooked, but she knew what to do and handled it! Such an improvement from a kid who wouldn't touch a horse 5 years ago.

She loved it all this year. This is her 3rd year and she's 11 years old. She will continue coming back every year and it's well worth the 4-hour drive. She also attended other camps this year and the others just don't compare to this one. She also has made camp friends though Ekone and likes to coordinate weeks with them which she really enjoys.

Highlight- being called into a loving place where she could be her true self. Her highlights included Dutch braids in the tent, mermaid pools, and the counselors!

AMAZING! He was so happy and asks how soon he can go back all the time. This was our first camp experience-- and he loved it. Highlights: counselors, pace of the day, variety of activities.

Wonderful! She liked caring for the chickens, the find-your-way-back-to-camp activity, the arts and crafts and riding of course! She really enjoyed helping out to prepare dinner too.

She came home wanting to share songs and recipes. A little bit of a picky eater at home but she says Ekone food is great.
