| The colorful prayer flags that fly across the top of the Ekone's octagon lodge are a calling to the Great Mystery for strength, unity, joy, love, and protection of Mother Earth. That is the foundation of the Ekone Community which expands and contracts like an accordion. The arrival and departure of extended family, the endings and beginnings of summer camps, the change of seasons; all determine the extent of the human community here at any given time. The plants and wild creatures of Earth and Sky, the herd of horses and buffalo, dogs and cats and flocks of chickens and pigeons also form a part of our family as well.
